climateadaptation

The Climate action team (CAT) Bruce Grey Owen Sound is hosting an information meeting focussed on the climate adaptation study that is currently being done for the city. Kris Robinson and Gloria Dangerfield will be presenting the study on October 17 at the Harmony Center (studio room) at 7:00 pm. Kim Davenport, the City of Owen Sound’s Asset and Risk Management Coordinator, will also be presenting. This study is comparing historical and current rainfall patterns to help the city deal with the effects of climate change and especially storm water. The project is being undertaken by the City of Owen Sound in collaboration with Grey Sauble Conservation Authority.

“Failure to plan is planning to fail”. The city is looking into how to deal with the expected increase in big storms and how to deal with the amounts of rain water that are the result.

The Climate Action Team BGOS (CatBGOS) started meeting after the Resilience film screening and has been meeting regularly on the 3rd Thursday of the month. CAT is a group of concerned citizens that is dedicated to doing something to try to stop climate change.

Come to the Harmony Center on the 17th to find out the City is doing and what CAT is doing.
