The Festival of Northern Lights is once again hosting Festival in the Park. Partnering with the City of Owen Sound, the Festival of Northern Lights is providing this fun community event for all to enjoy on Saturday December 7th from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm in Harrison Park.
Admission is by donation. Parking is limited at the Park so hop onboard the shuttle bus that will be running throughout the day with pickups and drop offs at the parking lot at 751 1st Avenue East, behind Wardell’s Carpets.
Inside Mrs. Claus’ kitchen there will be cookie decorating, crafts and face painting. Outside you can make traditional bannock over an open fire, tour a firetruck, build a birdfeeder, stop by the petting zoo and enjoy a pony ride. New this year, there will be special activities for the under-six age group as well. And,of course, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides to visit Santa in his cottage.
An on-site food booth will have chili, hot dogs and refreshments for sale. All proceeds are directed back into the event to keep it free to the public.
