Kasper Transportation announced today that  its bus service between Owen Sound and Guelph will begin January 15, 2020.

“We’ve been overwhelmed with the support that we have received to restore service along the Owen Sound - Guelph corridor.” says Operations Manager for Kasper Transportation Owen Sound, Greg Macivor. “We’ll be running a 12-seat bus two times a day with the first run from Owen Sound City Transit at 8:00 am arriving in Guelph Transit at 10:30 am., with scheduled and flag stops along the way. Complete details of scheduling and pricing will be available on the Gokasper.com website or on the Kasper Transportation Facebook page by the end of today."

“I’m excited to see this new route go into operation. We’ve successfully applied and hold the only license for this route and have focused on implementing service as safely and quickly as we can. I have every confidence in our Owen Sound organization led by Greg Macivor. As a native of Owen Sound and with 17 years of Coach Driving Management we could not have found a better person.” Kasper Wabinski, President Kasper Transportation.

Kasper's main business routes have been in northern Ontario and Manitoba to this point.

The City of Owen Sound was asking residents earlier this month to sign a petition of support for bus service by its chosen provider, Voyago, as part of its licensing process. In May of 2018, the City received a grant of $1.24 million from Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation toward an accessible  bus connection with Guelph.  Originally that service had been expected to start in the summer or fall of 2019, and is also scheduled to begin in January 2020.
