phoneBruce Power will host a Telephone Town Hall on Thursday evening with health officials from Grey Bruce to provide residents with the latest information on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents in Bruce and Grey counties will receive a phone call just before the scheduled 6:45 p.m. start to be given access to the Telephone Town Hall.

Since the announcement of a community Town Hall for a COVID-19 update from health officials there has been significant interest from across the Region. Additionally, Canada is experiencing significant strain on telecommunications systems due to heavier use.

To ensure as many people as possible can participate and we do not increase these telecommunications challenges there will be two ways to participate tomorrow:

1. A large number of Bruce and Grey county residents will receive a phone call invitation just before the scheduled 6:45 p.m. start of the Virtual Town Hall. The Virtual Town Hall will run from 6:45-7:30 p.m.

2. For those that do not receive a call the Virtual Town Hall will be available on the Bruce Power website at www.brucepower.com/ starting at 8 p.m.

A full recording of the call will also be shared on social media channels for people to listen to at their convenience or share.

WHEN: Thursday, March 19, 6:45 p.m.-7:45 p.m.

WHO: Presenters for the Telephone Town Hall will hear from:

  • Dr. Ian Arra, Medical Officer of Health, Public Health Grey Bruce;
  • Dr. Sunil Mehta, Chief of Emergency Medicine, Owen Sound Hospital, Grey Bruce Health Services
  • Gary Sims, President and CEO, Grey Bruce Health Services
  • Dan Howes, President and CEO, Hanover and District Hospital
  • Michael Barrett, President and CEO, South Bruce Grey Health Centre

HOW TO ACCESS: If you live in Bruce or Grey County, you will receive a call on your residential line just before 6:45 p.m. You can also call into the Telephone Town Hall by dialing 1-888-234-5571.
