KP9KP9 Interactive, an augmented reality (AR) tech start-up company based in Owen Sound has been nominated as a finalist for the ‘Best Creator & Authoring Tool’ award at the Auggie Awards, the world’s premiere augmented reality conference, expo, and awards ceremony.

News of the nomination came from Santa Clara, California, this past week, while the team at KP9 has been tinkering away on their proprietary content creation software platform from home. CEO, Wil McReynolds, has been working in the AR field since 2011 when the technology was still in its infancy, but says the advancements KP9 has made in the field are garnering recognition from some of the world’s biggest tech names.

“Over the past couple of years, we’ve had some incredible opportunities to work with some very influential individuals and brands. Shortly before the COVID19 travel restrictions went into effect, our team was making huge headway and building key professional relationships with a number of clients and organizations in Silicon Valley, New York, and closer to home in Toronto and K/W. We applied for the Auggie’s weeks ago, so news of our position as a Finalist was very welcome.”

The award is confirmation the company’s AR content creation platform, PrintCAST, is a game-changer for how augmented reality content will be created and viewed by global audiences. One major distinction of PrintCAST is the elimination of coding experience for the creator, giving creative control to everyone - a key pillar in the mantra of KP9 Interactive.

From April 21-May 8th the Auggie Awards are asking the public to cast their vote for their favourite Creator & Authoring Tool to gauge the popularity and impact each candidate has on the AR landscape. KP9 Interactive is seeking support from the local community in an effort to solidify a strong presence before the third and final judging round begins on May 13th.

You can vote for PrintCAST by KP9 Interactive by registering on the Auggie’s website at: https://www.awexr.com/usa-2020/auggie

“There are a number of companies who maintain their platforms are all about ‘AR for all,’ but the vast majority still require content creators to have expansive development and coding experience - but PrintCAST is a true what-you-see-is-what-you-get platform that’s intuitive, user-friendly and remarkably fast. You can publish AR content with PrintCAST and have it live on the web in minutes, all for free,” says McReynolds. “Our platform is all about giving this technology to the people, and we know that makes us unique and disruptive in AR.

The winners for each Auggie category will be announced on May 28th at AWE Online 2020. For more information about KP9 Interactive and PrintCAST, visit: www.KP9.ca and www.worldcast.io
