hazardousIn the best interest of public safety, Bruce County has made the difficult decision to cancel additional household hazardous waste collection events.

Residents are asked to properly store their household hazardous waste materials until the program can continue and materials can be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.

The following household hazardous waste collection events have been canceled:
May 2, 2020: Southampton Public Works Yard
May 9, 2020: Kincardine Public Works Yard
May 23, 2020: Walkerton Transportation Garage
June 13, 2020: Eastnor Landfill, Ferndale
June 13, 2020: South Bruce Peninsula Works Garage, Wiarton

“We continue to take this measure to continue following physical distancing to limit the risk of COVID-19.” said Miguel Pelletier, Director of Transportation and Environmental Services. “This is the time to stay at home, practice social distancing and help flatten the curve.”

Bruce County will continue to advise the public if additional collection events are canceled in the future.

Bruce County urges all residents to stay home, to practice social distancing, and to practice proper hygiene protocols outlined by the Provincial Medical Officer of Health:
