Bluewater District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Penner Lipsett as Superintendent of Education effective July 1, 2020.

The vacancy was created following the recent appointment of Superintendent of Education Lori Wilder to the position of Director of Education.

Having grown up and attended schools in Grey County, Lauren’s career with Bluewater District School Board has spanned almost 20 years. She spent many years at Beaver Valley Community School teaching primary, junior, and intermediate students, as well as a behaviour resource class. As an administrator, she was a vice-principal at Sydenham Community School and a principal at Bayview Public School prior to taking a system-based role in the Learning Services department. Her system level areas of focus have included curriculum, mathematics, early years, French, the New Teacher Induction Program, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, dual credits, Specialist High Skills Majors, and summer learning/summer school. Lauren lives locally on a family farm with her husband, two children, and pets.

“I am humbled and thankful for the opportunity to serve our students, staff, and families as Superintendent of Education,” says Penner Lipsett. “Though we may be living in uncertain times, I am extremely encouraged by our future path in Bluewater, and look forward to leveraging my skills on the senior team to further support our schools.”

As Superintendent of Education, Lauren will provide leadership and support to an area of schools, in addition to managing a portfolio which includes human resources responsibilities.
