Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker has announced one-time combined federal-provincial funding to improve and make upgrades to Lee Manor in Owen Sound.

Lee Manor Home, in Owen Sound, will receive up to $650,000 ($520,000 is the federal share, $130,000 is the provincial share) to upgrade the HVAC system with better air conditioning and ventilation to improve air quality, reduce and control outbreaks.
In addition, expanding cooling to residents' rooms will allow residents to socially distance in the safety of their own rooms.

The funding is part of a $100 million investment to install heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, and make retrofits or repairs to fire sprinkler systems, in 95 long-term care homes across the province.

In the 2021 Budget, Ontario’s Action Plan: Protecting People’s Health and Our Economy, the province set aside a total of $246 million to improve living conditions in long-term care homes, including ensuring residents have air conditioning.
