Guelph Mike Schreiner 2018Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Greens to host Green Party Ontario Leader and Guelph MPP, Mike Schreiner.

On January 16, 2020, at 5:30 at The Harmony Centre, Owen Sound the Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Greens are hosting Guelph MPP and Green Party Ontario Leader, Mike Schreiner.

Danielle Valiquette, the Green BGOS candidate of record, will introduce Mike and later facilitate questions from the gallery.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Greens is honoured to have Mike stopping at Owen Sound’s Harmony Centre after he tours Bruce Power. It is incredible what he has been able to achieve since being the first Ontario Green elected in 2018. He advocates for larger issues like fundraising reform, as well as his own community.

In fact in 2019, Mike Schreiner:

Led the charge to defend the Greenbelt against Bill 66.

Introduced private member’s bill to protect Ontario’s drinking water supply, gaining support from all parties at second reading.

Introduced a bill to protect our democracy by limiting fundraisers to $100 per ticket.

Launched a campaign to protect endangered species from Bill 108, culminating in a joint press conference with the NDP and Liberals demanding the Premier halt his plan to pave over the critical habitat.

Advocated for tree planting. Forest Ontario credits Mike as being key in the federal government’s decision to save the 50 Million Tree Program axed by the Premier.

Developed a plan to tackle the housing crisis and unlock affordable housing solutions for all that looked for feedback from experts, as well as all Ontarians.

Extended the moratorium on new bottling permits, protecting community drinking water from global companies for another year.

Mike Schreiner is the leader of the Green Party of Ontario and the MPP for Guelph. He was elected in the 2018 provincial election with a resounding 45% of the vote as the Green Party of Ontario won its first-ever seat at Queen’s Park. Under Mike’s leadership, the GPO has experienced substantial growth in its voters, fundraising, staff, volunteers and media exposure.

A special thank you to the Harmony Centre at 890 4th Avenue East, Owen Sound. The Harmony Centre is open to the public Thursdays 9 am to 5 pm or by appointment at [email protected].
