impaireddriving

The Grey Bruce OPP is committed to improving road safety throughout Grey Bruce. Part of that commitment comes from ongoing efforts to remove drivers whose ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired by either drugs or alcohol. The Grey Bruce OPP have charged a total of 10 drivers with impaired related offences between May 1, 2023, and May 11, 2023.

The Grey Bruce OPP would like to take this time to remind those who are consuming cannabis and or alcohol, that it is never ok to drive impaired. Impaired driving puts everyone at risk and is something the Grey Bruce OPP take very seriously. Be sure to have a designated driver, take a taxi, or stay overnight at your destination. Those caught driving while impaired will not only face criminal charges but will also face an automatic 30-day licence suspension, and a 7-day motor vehicle impoundment.
