OS-Police-Targs-fullAt approximately 9:30 am, Owen Sound Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call from staff at Owen Sound District Secondary School.

Staff immediately activated a Hold and Secure at the school when they learnt that students were talking about a potential for violence at the school.

The investigation revealed that students were unknowingly talking about an event that actually happened in Waterloo, Ontario on Thursday April, 5, 2018.

Police held the lock and secure in place until the investigation was completed and determined that it was safe to release the school to the principal's care.

There was no validated threat to Owen Sound District Secondary School or the staff and students.

There were no injuries reported.
