steering wheelGrey County Ontario Provincial Police remind the public to keep their vehicles locked to prevent it from getting stolen. This reminder comes after Grey County OPP received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Sideroad 41 in the Township of Southgate.

On January 19, 2019 around 12:23 p.m., the victim left his vehicle running and unlocked in the driveway. When he returned a few minutes later he saw his vehicle, followed by another vehicle, leaving the area. The stolen vehicle was recovered in Wellington North Township later the same day.

Vehicle thefts may be prevented by ensuring the vehicle is locked. Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running, and never leave valuable objects or packages in full view. Put them in the trunk.
