On February 5, 2019 at approximately 12:19 p.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a day-time break and enter that occurred on Grey Road 40 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Police learned that just before noon that day, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence on Grey Road 40. Upon hearing a crashing sound, the resident called out thinking it was her husband. She proceeded to investigate the sound at which time she discovered that the front door had been breached. A white car was observed exiting the driveway before heading eastbound on Grey Road 40.

While investigating the break-in on Grey Road 40, police received a report of a second day-time break-in at a residence on the 7th Line in the Municipality of Meaford. Unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered the residence sometime between 8:40 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. A number of items were stolen, including a large steel security box containing personal documentation; a 42" Samsung flat screen T.V.; jewelry, and some alcohol.

Police continue to investigate these crimes with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Unit - Mount Forest.
