At approximately 1 pm Sunday, the Owen Sound Police arrested a 30-year-old Owen Sound female and charged her with cruelty to animals. The investigation revealed that she had purposely killed a pet hamster.

The female was released from custody on conditions not to be in possession of any animal. She will appear in court in March 2020 to answer to the charge.
