hanoverpoliceThe Hanover Police Service continues to evolve our operational and organizational continuity plans to ensure that we can continue to provide policing service to our community. As a result, we have made subtle changes to non-urgent and administrative service delivery designed to help protect everyone from the spread of COVID-19.

Effective immediately and until further notice, please refrain from attending our Hanover Police Service Station unless you have a scheduled appointment.

If you reside in Hanover and require an employment related background check or want to make inquiries about a Freedom of Information request please contact our administrative line during business hours at 519.364.4280 extension #1 for further instructions. For residents that have existing background checks being processed, they will be contacted by telephone to discuss the method of delivery.

If you require a police response, please continue to call our Dispatch Centre for non-emergency police matters at 519.364.2411 or in case of emergencies dial 911. As part of our COVID-19 response procedure, callers to our Dispatch Centre will be asked a series of five screening questions for community health and well-being reasons.

The safety and security of the residents and visitors remains our top priority. Depending on the level of police response that is required, police officers may resolve your call for service over the telephone or by other means deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.

Our Police Service members will continue their regular patrol and other policing duties throughout our community, while working diligently to practice preventative strategies to avoid contracting or spreading the COVID-19 virus.

Thank-you for doing your part, following advice from our public health experts and for your patience, understanding and ongoing community support.
