On June 5, 2020 at 11:29 a.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a pay loader had been taken from an address in Brant Township. Members of the South Bruce OPP located the pay loader in Carrick Township being driven in an erratic manner.

As a result of the police investigation criminal charges have been laid. A 19-year-old Brockton man was charged with Dangerous Operation, 2 counts of Operation while Prohibited, 2 counts of Assault Peace Officer, Theft over $5,000, 2 counts of Mischief over $5,000, Mischief under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.

He is currently in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for June 9, 2020.
