racingThis Saturday, May 21, 2016 Full Throttle Motor Speedway kicked off the 2016 season. The Mini Trucks, Junior Late Models, Fun Stocks, Mini Stocks, Street Stocks, and the Crazy Trains were all part of a full schedule for the event.

The event kicked off with a ceremony for Tim and Donna Tolton who were married on the front stretch of the track 25 years ago.

After the ceremony the "Matteo's Pizza" Fun Stocks were first class on the track for the 2016 season. 17 cars signed in and lined up to take the green flag and When the Green flag flew it would be the #32 of Ben Klages from Hanover, Ontario would take a commanding lead of a full straightaway. On lap seven the caution would fly due to de-bris on the back stretch. The caution would stack the field back up putting Klages side by side with the #0 of Phil Givens. When the green waved again, the #32 would have a hard battle with Givens for 13 laps. With a last lap pass Phil Givens would wheel his #0 machine past Klages and would take the checkered flag. Second belonged to the #32 of Ben Klages, The #92 of Tim Van Oostveen came in third, fourth was the #5 of Jere-mie Duguay and rounding out the top five was the #14 of Luke Bos.

The "Georgian Bay Chemical" Junior Lates were the next group of cars to hit the track for the first of two 15 lap features. These mini cars are nine horse power Honda motors which allow these cars to hit 90 km/h with all the safety equipment found in the big cars. When the green flag flew the #29 Austin Arnel would lead the field to green Arnel would lead all 15 laps but not without competition from the #15 of Kaisha Zimoch. On the last lap the #15 would challenge Arnel for the lead but the #15 would end up spinning out of turn four and the #29 of Arnel would take the checkered flag. Cody Wilds in the #14 would come in second, third would go to the #15 of Zimoch after her spin, and coming in fourth would be the #63 of Cole Burrows.

The "Twin City Auto Parts" Mini Stocks were the next group of cars to hit the race track. With a fast group of cars put together the field would take the green flag being lead by the #35 of Tim Tolton. Tim would lead all 20 laps of a hard raced Mini Stock feature. Second would go to the #75 of Scott Mast, third belonged to the #73 of Scott Schlueter. Coming over the line fourth was Nick Clarke in the #86. Rounding out the top five was the #13 of Bobby Tolton.

The Mini Trucks were the next group to hit the track for their first 15 lap feature. The #75 of Kendra Cassidy would lead the field to the green and would wheel her #75 mini truck around the track in the lead for all 15 lap and would take the checkered flag. Sec-ond was the #88 of Bubba Brown. Rounding out the top three was the #77 of Miranda Gill.

The next class to hit the track was the Pure Trucks. The Pure trucks were scheduled to run 15 laps. The # 04 of Rick Book would lead the field to green but would surrender the lead to the Tyler McDonald in the #97. Tyler Would lead all 15 laps unchallenged to take the checkered flag. Second would belong to #04 Rick Book and rounding out the top three was the #34 of Tyler Arned.

The Street Stocks were the next group of race cars to take to the speedway. With 12 cars to take the green the fans were set to see good racing. Travis Farrow would lead the field to the green but on lap two, James Hunt back up driving for Billy Alderson Jr., would take over the lead and never look back as he would bring the #18 Street Stock into Victory Lane. Farrow in the #01 would place second. Ryan Edwards Kiss in the #20 would be scored in third. Fourth would go to the #05 of Steve Brook. And rounding out the top 5 was the #1 of Bob Parsons.

The Crazy Trains were ready to do battle for 15 laps being lead to green by the #87 "The Dragon Express" of Jim McTavish. However The #13 of John Bates and "The Rockford Rednecks" would lead until being involved in a wreck with the #7 of Brody Schiestel. This crash made the race official and the #87 was called the winner. Second would go to the #13, Third was the #34 of Tyler Arnold. Brody Schiestel is scored in the fourth position. And The #182 of Lyle Lorenz would round out the top 5.

The "Matteo's Pizza Fun Stocks" Fun Stocks would be next to hit the track for feature two. The #16 of Lucas Dillman would lead the pack to the green but would quickly sur-render the lead to the #48 of John Green. Matt Clarke would take the lead on lap nine. When the #5 and #0 came together in turn three, the caution flew and the field would tighten back up and get ready to make a final push to the checkered. Matt Clarke how-ever was just too fast to pass and would bring the car into Victory Lane. Second would go to the #73 of Sheri McIntyre, third would go to the #32 of Ben Klages. Jeremie Duguay came fourth. Phil Givens would round out the top five.

The "Georgian Bay Chemical" Junior Lates were next to do battle for their second 15 lap feature. Kaisha Zimoch in the #15 would lead the pack for three laps but would be taken over by the #14 of Cody Wilds. Wilds would never look back and bring the #14 into victory lane. Zimoch would bring her #15 in second. Austin Arnel would bring the #29 in third. And Cole Burrows would bring his #63 car in to round out the top four.

The "Twin City Auto Parts" would be lead out by the #34 Mini Stock rookie Alex Hastie for their second feature. When the green flag flew Alex would be quickly over taken by Bobby Tolton. After making the pass Bobby wouldn't look back as he would lead all 20 laps and bring the #13 car into victory lane. Second place would go to the #86 of Nick Clarke. Tim Tolton would bring his #35 car over the line in third. Fourth was #34 Alex Hastie. And rounding out the top five was the #75 of Scott Mast.

The Mini Trucks made their way back to the speedway for their second feature of the night. Bubba Brown in the #88 would lead the pack the green flag. Bubba would lead all 15 laps to put his #88 truck into victory lane. Second was Kendra Cassidy in the #75. Rounding out the top three was the #77 of Miranda Gill

The Pure Trucks were the next group of vehicles to hit the pavement for their second feature. The #04 of Rick Book would lead the trucks to the flag but on lap four he would suffer a mechanical failure. This mechanical issue would allow the #97 Tyler McDonald to take the lead. Tyler would lead right to the checkered. #34 Tyler Arned would bring his truck in second and Rick Book in the #04 would finish third.

The Street Stocks would be lead out onto the track for their second feature by the #1 Bob Parsons. Parsons would be overtaken on lap three by Ryan Edwards Kiss in the #20. On lap five James Hunt would take over the lead. James would leading through two cautions and saving ed the car after the right front brakes locked up. sending him straight to the wall. James would bring the car over the line first. #20 Ryan Edwards Kiss would pull the #20 in second. Mike Thebeau came in third with his #35 car. Fourth belonged to the #05 Steve Brook and fifth was #1 of Bob Parsons.

The Crazy Trains wrapped up the evening with an entertaining second feature. The #13 "The Rockford Rednecks" train would lead the whole feature avoiding a tangle of trains on lap 4. The #95 "The Angry Birds" train would come in second. Third was the #87 "The Dragon Express" of Jim McTavish. Fourth was the #34 of Tyler Arned. And finally rounding out the top five was the #182 "Here We Go" of Lyle Lorenz.

The next time race cars hit the track at Full Throttle is Saturday, May 28 at 7pm. The "Matteo's Pizza" Fun Stocks, "Twin City Auto Parts" Mini Stocks, Outlaw Late Model, Crazy Trains, Pure Trucks, Figure 8 are all on the schedule. Admission is $13 for adults (11 and up) and $2 for kids ages 10 and down. Book this night onto your schedule as this is a night you won't want to miss.
