u15 ladies lacrosse silverThe European Bakery U15 A Field Lacrosse Team were at provincials in Peterborough this past weekend, with great results.

Finishing with a Silver medal, the girls fought hard all weekend.

On Friday, August 2nd, in their first game, Owen Sound faced Oakville winning 10-4. Goals were scored by Jillian Goldie with 2 goals and 1 assist, Emma Bryan with 3 goals and 1 assist, Karly Low with 3 goals and one assist, Kaitlyn Strong with 2 goals. in their second game, Owen Sound faced Orangeville tying them 10-10. Goals in that game were scored by Jillian Goldie with 4 goals, Karly Low with 3 goals, Cassidy Low with 2 goals, and Emma Bryan with 1 goal and 3 assists.

On Saturday, August 3rd in their first game Owen Sound faced Kawartha winning 12-5. Jillian Goldie netted 3 goals, Karly Low had 4, Danni Strong with 2 goals and 3 assists, Cassidy Low with 2, Emma Bryan 1 goal and one assist.

Semifinals against Beaches – Owen Sound won 7-5. Goal Scorers were Jillian Goldie with 2, Danni Strong with 2, Cassidy Low with 1, Karly Low with 1, Emma Bryan with 1 goal and 1 assist, and an assist from Kaitlyn Strong rounded out the tally for the team.

Sunday, August 4th saw the ladies playing in the Gold medal game facing Oshawa with Oshawa winning 10-8. Goals scored for the European Bakery North Stars were by Jillian Goldie who had 5 goals with 1 assist, Karly Low with 2 goals , Emma Bryan with 1 goal and Danni Strong with an assist.

The Owen Sound Girls Field Lacrosse Club was recognized by John Mayo the President of Ontario Women’s Field Lacrosse for its incredible success in the 2019 season, with all teams in the top half of the standings.  Mayo credits this success to a well-run organisation, and strong leadership. 

Stacey Goldie and Adam Jackson were also recognised as Caches Of The Year for the 2019 season.
