The Georgian Bay Folk Society has confirmed that James Keelaghan will continue as Artistic Director for the 2016 and 2017 Summerfolk Music and Craft Festivals. Keelaghan's musical career has spanned more than 25 years and a dozen albums, included many performances at Summerfolk, and earned him international acclaim – including a Juno award.

Keelaghan joined the Georgian Bay Folk Society as Artistic Director for the 2011 Summerfolk Festival. Having previously served on the boards of the Calgary Folk Festival and North American Folk Alliance, the transition to first-time Artistic Director was natural for

The TOM installed the 100 Days of Portraits, part of the TOM's Available Space Art Projects (ASAP) by artist Heather Murray on the corner of 2nd Avenue East and 10th Street East in the Owen Sound's downtown core on October 15th, 2015. Most high school students won't claim that their homework makes a difference in the world but two art classes from St Mary's High School disagree. On Thursday November 5th from 4-7pm, Ms. MacLellan's grade nine and ten students will host an exhibition of original silkscreen and block prints at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery. All artworks will be available for purchase and proceeds from the show will support Syrian refugees through the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace.
