shortfilmThe Scenic City Film Festival audience favourite short film program is back!

This year, the organizers, Nelson Phillips, Myke Dyer, and Wendel Brooks, reigned in the expansive outside programming audiences have celebrated in years past, and decided to focus solely on the film program, and the growing partnership with Heartwood Concert Hall via a specialty cask beer event.

Missing from programming this year is an external film & video installation, as well as an evening dedicated to showcasing a feature film premiere.

Showcasing 14 local, national, and international short films on Friday September 14, the SCFF short film program is presented by the Advantage Royal Group, MC'd by actor and Roxy theatre director, Matt Evans. The short film program will close with our democratic audience awards presentation, acknowledging the Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Animation, and the illustrious People's Choice award.

The film festival will be joined by our second annual cask beer event - a bold new feature returning from last year by popular demand. It showcases unique cask beer offerings made specifically for the SCFF. This year, the Corkscrew City Cask Night will feature suds from the Kilannan Brewing Co., Mudtown Station, Northwinds Brewery Limited, Maclean's Ales, and a special hopped cider from Coffin Ridge Boutique Winery - all will be available throughout the evening, beginning with a happy hour at 5:30 p.m.

The cask portion of the festival is presented by the City of Owen Sound and its Corkscrew City initiative.

Tickets are available online via Ticketfly, at Heartwood Home, or at the door for $20 + S/C. Doors and casks open at 5:30 p.m with the short film program beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Please be advised, some short film content may not be suitable for younger viewers. Viewer discretion is advised. (14A)
