nutcrackerThe Georgian Bay Symphony’s Christmas concert has been a Grey Bruce tradition for over 40 years.

This year’s Christmas concert will feature highlights from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. The Symphony is thrilled to have the Owen Sound Dance Academy joining them on stage for this great holiday classic. The dancers have been rehearsing since September to get ready for their own production of The Nutcracker the following Saturday December 15th in Meaford.

And of course the Christmas Concert would not be complete without sing along with the orchestra. Expect over 700 people to be belting out Rodolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and Winter Wonderland, just to name a few.

There will be lots of other festive music too and a few holiday surprised along the way. The Christmas concert has sold out in the past few years and this season’s looks to be no exception. Close to 6oo tickets are already sold, leaving fewer than 150 left for sale. This year is the first time that you can purchase tickets online. You can also purchase tickets from the GBS office 519-372-0212 and there may be a limited number available at the door.

The concert is at East Ridge Community School 1550 8th Street East, Owen Sound. December 8th at 7:30 pm. There is parking at East Ridge and additional free parking at Georgian College. Doors open at 6:30.
