OS-logo-fullOwen Sound city council will be holding a meeting to consider applications for the land located at 3195 Bayshore Road, Owen Sound (former RCA lands).

City council will consider a zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA19), an application to amend the Comprehensive Zoning By-law under section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended; and a Draft Plan of Subdivision (42T-16501) for residential development under section 51 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended.

The updated date of the meeting is September 26, 2016 (formerly September 12) at 7pm, in City Hall Council Chambers, 808 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound.

The Zoning By-law amendment proposes to rezone:

- A small portion of the subject lands, in the southeast corner, from ZH to R3 in order to permit residential development. The proposed amendment is based on revised floodline mapping generated by an RJ Burnside Study.

- An area within the plan from R3 to RM to allow for 4-5 storey multi-unit buildings at the northwest corner of the subject lands.

The proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision will provide for approximately 280 to 400 residential units, depending on lot size and multi-unit housing form, on 15.6 hectares. The Draft Plan of Subdivision includes:

- Blocks for residential development, including a mix of single detached, townhouse and multi-unit low rise housing types

- Park Block

- Walkway Blocks

- Trail Block along Kenny Drain

- Stormwater management pond, 3 street connections to existing municipal roads and construction of new internal streets and services.

Property Description:

The subject lands are legally described as follows: Parts of Park Lots 7 & 8, Range 3 East of the Garafraxa Road, City of Owen Sound (formerly Township of Sydenham), County of Grey and municipally known as 3195 Bayshore Road. The subject lands are bound by Bayshore Road to the west, 32nd Street East to the north, 9th Avenue East to the east and the Kenny Drain to the south.
