Greening efforts at the Owen Sound hospital continue with tree planting and maintenance, meadow garden planning and planting, path building, and fundraising.

hospitaltreesIf you've been waiting patiently for NeighbourWoods North's fourth annual yard sale for the trees - the wait is over!

This Saturday, July 17, the yard sale is being held at 1625 7th Avenue East. With many donations, this yard sale runs the gamut from furniture to sporting goods, antiques to   Come support NeighbourWoods North and the trees.

Every Tuesday evening this summer volunteers are caring for the trees in the Forest of Hope and Healing and along the Healing Path,  by spreading mulch, watering, mowing long grasses, and any other things the young trees need. Check the Events page for more details. We will be planting more trees along the pathway and in the forest this fall.

The ground is still being prepared for the meadow gardens located near 8th Street East. Volunteer gardeners are tending seedlings for planting in the early fall.

Paths through the forest are being built this summer. These mulch covered paths are a prelude to the much bigger, accessible Healing Path which will be started in the south west corner of the hospital property this fall.

With all these big plans for the fall, you know that all the money raised by the yard sale will be put to excellent use for our community and all those who come to our hospital for care or work.
