If you are like me you spend at least part of your day scrolling through social media posts, many of which highlight chronic injustices that adversely affect the lives of our neighbours.

Music education has been scientifically proven to increase cognitive development and alter the life trajectories of children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn music.

The Big Sound's programs commenced in 2018 with an after-school string and choral program that was delivered to 15 students at Hillcrest Elementary School. That was followed with an in-school, during-school Music and Movement Program which is currently being delivered to 12 classes (over 240 students) at three Owen Sound Elementary schools.

If you are interested in helping The Big Sound is currently seeking a few highly motivated and qualified Directors for our Board.

We currently meet virtually once per month for 2 hours or less, but additional contributions in the areas of record maintenance, planning, fund development, and financial management will necessitate a greater time commitment.
