keldabirthday

Head down to Georgian Shores United Church (10th St and 4th Ave E in Owen Sound) Wednesdays at noon and enjoy the music. All concerts are Pay What You Can so please give generously if you're able to support these wonderful musicians. If you can only afford a quarter or less come on in. We are happy to have you.

Kelda Mikalson and Christina Edwards are performing this Wednesday, August 24. "We have a very varied program of songs that my students have brought in that I have stolen because they struck my fancy. Along with some old favourites that haunt me, I think there is something for everyone."

christinaedwardsKelda got her bachelor of music in the coulees of Lethbridge, Alberta. She hopped a train east to sell local food, dream community kitchens, and swim her summers away in Owen Sound. Kelda is grateful for the musical opportunities she has found in Grey-Bruce including the Acapella Chamber Choir, Owen Sound Noon Hour Series, Lighthouse Swing Band, OSLT, soloist gigs, collaborative concerts, and Music Together classes. Kelda now fills her days teaching privately and singing and dancing with the oldies at Country Lane LTC.

Christina Edwards is School Administrator, Piano Teacher at Blackboard Sound in Port Elgin. She holds a PATM in piano performance from Cambrian College (Sudbury) and a BMus in Collaborative Piano Performance from Brandon University. She is the pianist for Chantry Singers, and a co-founder of both classical music trio Aria21 and Hammers&Strings Piano Duo. On the faculty at Summer Music Camp, (Art&Music Exploration), Christina is living her dream, finding many performance opportunities balanced with teaching in beautiful Saugeen Shores and surrounding areas. She lives with four fat cats, and the boss of them all, a wee chihuahua named Ned.
