Brockton Walkerton

The Municipality of Brockton is pleased to announce the hiring of Nicholas Schnurr as the incoming Director of Operations for the Municipality of Brockton. 

Nicholas is coming to the Municipality of Brockton from the County of Bruce where he was the Engineering Technologist in the Transportation and Environmental Services Department. Before his time with the County  of Bruce, Nicholas worked at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation as a Contract Services Inspector and he also has experience working in various construction roles.

Nicholas has a Civil Engineering Technology diploma from Cambrian College and is a Certified Engineering Technologist and a certified member of OACETT, registered for the last 11 years. With Nicholas’ education and experience he is proficient in contract  administration, project management, project inspection and roads maintenance. Nicholas has proven knowledge of engineering principles to manage highway and bridge construction projects, and proven analytical and problem-solving skills to assess engineering and construction issues. 

Mayor Peabody welcomes Nicholas to the Brockton team, “I am very pleased, on behalf of Brockton Council and staff to welcome Nicholas as the incoming Director of Operations. Nicholas’ County of Bruce and MTO experience coupled with his background in transportation along with project management and local knowledge will make him well positioned to lead this department. I also wish to thank John Strader for  stepping up as Acting Director of Operations for the last few months and with the transition as we move forward.” 

The County of Bruce wishes Nicholas well with accepting the Director of Operations position. County of Bruce CAO Derrick Thomson advised that “Nicholas was a high performer for the County of Bruce and we wish him well as he grows his career within the Brockton community."

Nicholas is excited about the opportunity, “I look forward to my career with Brockton. This new challenge will provide me with an opportunity to expand my knowledge of the Operations Department while focusing on  providing high quality services to the community.” 

The Municipality looks forward to welcoming Nicholas Schnurr as the Director of Operations effective October 31, 2022.
