scatterthecats

After a musical theatre warm-up by our student performer Emily Mundle you can pew dance the hour away this at this Wednesday's noon-hour concert.

Members of Scatter the Cats like nothing better than hitting the groove for a big blast of tunes for dancers.

They’ve been inviting folks across Grey and Bruce Counties to drop everything and move to the traditional music they’ve been making at barns and town and church halls, folk festivals, pubs, parties, plowing matches, weddings and other community celebrations since 1991.

Fiddler Will Henry, Bob Robins, guitars, tenor banjo, Dan McGee, flute, clawhammer banjo, harmonica and Frank Francalanza, mandolin, banjo, foot and hand percussion, dance calls and steps, are all former members of the long-lived Grey-Bruce music collective The Glenelg Full Moon Country Dance Band.

Known mostly as a contra dance band, Scatter the Cats also features a more diverse collection of traditional and original music and song for concert performances.

Music is for sharing so concerts are open to all and pay-what-you-can. Children and anyone who hasn't felt that folk, classical, or traditional music was for them are warmly welcomed. Clap, laugh, and cry as you wish throughout the show. Come early and stay to chat or sneak in or out as your schedule requires. Bring yourself and all of your friends and acquaintances.

We look forward to seeing you!
