tree wateringThis summer's hot, dry weather has taken a toll on the seedlings planted by volunteers this past spring at the Owen Sound Hospital. NeighbourWoods North is working to save the still living seedlings through weekly waterings and fall replanting.

Volunteers are needed weekly on Thursday evenings from 7 pm to dusk beginning this Thursday, July 26. Bring a watering can, bucket, or just yourself to the hospital across from the emergency room. Parking is free. Volunteers are needed whether contributing the whole evening or part of it. All volunteers are invited to gather at Mudtown Station after the watering.

tree samplingNeighbourWoods North is also collecting seedlings and small saplings of any type to replace the seedlings that have died due to lack of water. Unwanted seedlings and saplings from gardens, curbsides, yards, woodlots, or any other personal property should be dug up and potted. Contact info@neighbourwoodsnorth to arrange for pick-up.

NeighbourWoods North organizes naturalization and tree planting projects with volunteers in the Owen Sound area to create environmental benefits, enhance the attractiveness of the community, and contribute to local quality of life.
