FestivalinthePark1The Festival of Northern Lights is hosting Festival in the Park on Saturday December 8th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm in Harrison Park, admission is by donation. Partnering with the City of Owen Sound, the Festival of Northern Lights is providing a free and fun community event for all to enjoy!

Parking is limited at the park so grab the shuttle bus provided by Martin’s School Bus Transit that will be running throughout the day with pickups and drop offs at the Tourism Office at 1155 1st Ave West, or the parking lot at 751 1st Ave East, behind Wardell’s Carpets.FestivalinthePark2

Come to the hall in Harrison Park for cookie decorating, and crafts and to see Santa himself! Make traditional bannock or try your hand at one of the activities led by At Last Adventure – Forest Schools outside the hall. See a firetruck and build a birdfeeder with the Sydenham Sportsman’s Association. Once again there will be a petting zoo and pony rides to enjoy. New this year, make your way to the island for a wagon ride and face painting.

The Scenic City Lions Club will be selling hot chocolate and coffee for us in Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen, while festival volunteers will be outside BBQing up hamburgers and hotdogs for sale. All proceeds go to keep this event free to the public.

If you’d like to help others celebrate the season, bring an unwrapped toy for the Owen Sound Firefighters Toy Drive.

Hope to see you Saturday at the Festival in the Park!
