The event will be held online and is free for all who are interested in learning how to create an effective campaign team. Participation is limited to 100 people and registration will close on Tuesday, October 5 at 3PM.

Formed during the pandemic, electHER is a new community volunteer group with a mandate to support women as they run for and hold municipal office in Grey-Bruce. Today, only 26% of elected municipal officials in Grey-Bruce are women, where women make up 50.8% of the population.

“Women bring a different perspective based on their life experience. The lens they use to reflect their understanding of the community is an important asset and brings value to the decision making that occurs in politics,” says Carol Merton, Owen Sound City Councillor and electHER Co-Founder.

electHER is supporting current politicians and other women interested in running for local office by providing networking activities, learning events and topic resources leading up to the October 2022 election period.
