Bruce County Library
October is Canadian Library Month. All month, Libraries across Canada are working to raise awareness of their important roles in Canadian’s lives. Bruce County Public Library consists of 17 branches throughout Bruce County that are a pillar in the community, constantly growing and finding new and innovative ways to stay on top of digital trends and to support the communities they serve.

To celebrate Canadian Library Month, Bruce County Public Library is unveiling its new kids’ cards. The three new designs represent BCPL and encourage our youngest patrons to Imagine, Explore, and Inspire. And if that’s not enough reason to visit your local library branch, we have an exciting giveaway opportunity open to all children in Bruce County, 12 years and younger. For the month of October, when children register for a new card, attend a program in a branch, or borrow an item, they will receive a ballot to be entered to win a Nintendo Switch! This will be a County wide giveaway, with the Nintendo Switch going to one lucky child.

“We love to see young patrons exploring all that our libraries offer, from borrowing books, to coding robots, or learning to use a 3D printer. Our children’s membership drive is designed to connect with children and families who have yet to discover the wonder of libraries” says Brooke McLean, Director of Library Services.

The library collection is continually growing, offering everything from snowshoes, ukuleles, board games, puzzles, and museum and park passes. Visit their Non-Traditional Collections page to get a complete list of everything available with your BCPL card. The Bruce County Public Library website always has up to date information on programming happening near you.
