FoodBank boxedThe West Grey Library is supporting the Durham Food Bank again this holiday season, and hopes for community involvement gathering presents for children and stocking Food Bank shelves.

The library will be distributing and accepting Christmas hamper applications, and will also be part of the food bank’s Tree Tag program.

Applications for those looking for a hamper are available at the Durham branch, and must be returned to the Book Store, Heritage Corner Variety or the Durham branch of the library by Friday, Dec. 2.

Without an application, there will be no hamper.

Anyone who needs help with the application can go to the Durham Presbyterian Church, 205 Lambton St. E., on Thurs., Dec 1, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Tree tags will be available at the Durham Branch early in December, and West Grey residents are invited to drop in and pick up a tag or two, then get gifts for the child described on the tag. These tags give a little information about each child (no names) and the gifts will accompany a hamper. Unused gift cards for local businesses and cash are also welcome.

The deadline for bringing gifts in, either to the library's Durham branch, 453 Garafraxa St. S., or to the Meridian Credit Union, is December 15.
