Effective Immediately, the Township of Georgian Bluffs has now lifted the total fire ban that was put in place on June 7, 2023.

Please be advised that the Province of Ontario’s Fire Restriction remains in place, and is in effect in the area of the former Keppel Township in Georgian Bluffs north of Highway 21. This restriction bans campfires, brush fires or burn barrels, except in organized campgrounds and provincial parks. Thank you to the Georgian Bluffs community for your cooperation throughout the fire ban.

The fire ban, issued for the Township of Chatsworth on June 7, 2023, is now. lifted. 

The Township of Chatsworth Fire Chief would like to remind residents and visitors to the  municipality, that an Open-Air Burn Permit is required for ALL open-air burns larger than  1meter (39 inches) in diameter. The Fire Chief would also like to caution people to take  care when burning as conditions are still favorable for grass fires, due to the amount of  dead grass from the dry conditions over the past several weeks.
