Male youth arrested for overnight thefts from motor vehicles.

During the morning of Wednesday July 26th police responded to a residence on Alpha Street with regards to an overnight theft from an unlocked motor vehicle. At that time the victim was able to provide police with a high quality surveillance video capturing the theft. Police were able to positively identify the 14 year old male youth from Owen Sound who was arrested in the early afternoon. Investigation revealed that this youth was responsible for another overnight theft from a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation this youth is being held in police custody awaiting a Thursday morning bail hearing in relation to the following criminal offences:

- Theft Under $5000. (two counts)

- Possession of Stolen Property (two counts)

- Trespass by Night (two counts)

- Unauthorized use of a credit card

- Breach of Probation (four counts).

Police are once again urging the public to ensure their vehicles are locked at all times and contents out of plain view.
