opp-crimescene-fullOn August 15, 2017 at approximately 7:53 p.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police, together with members of the Bruce Peninsula OPP and Grey County OPP, responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a commercial property located at the intersection of Hwy. 21 and County Road 10 (Allenford), in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie. Information was received that two men were seen forcibly entering the building; a vacant gas station.

Upon arrival, police arrested a 23-year old male from Owen Sound at the scene. He was transported to hospital with mental health issues. He is charged with break and enter and breach of probation. An audio-video remand is scheduled for August 23, 2017 in Walkerton.

The second suspect fled the scene on foot. He has been identified as a 36-year old male from the Municipality of West Grey. An arrest warrant is being sought for him.

The OPP Canine Unit and members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) assisted at the scene.
