Grey County buildingOn Tuesday, April 3, 2018, the Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) will join the Economic Development Department at the Grey County Administration building, located at 595 9th Avenue East. The BEC will continue to offer the same excellent support for business on a more regional scale and will include:

- One-on-one free consultations with qualified business consultants who help clients start and grow businesses;
- Information on financing options and help developing a business plan;
- Information on permits, licences and government supports;
- Business and professional development seminars and networking events;
- Information and access to youth entrepreneurship programs;
- Starter Company Plus and Summer Company programs;
- Access to resource materials and use of a computer.
"We are excited to bring the Business Enterprise Centre in-house to reinforce the regional application of the service. The transition will better equip staff, municipal and community partners with the necessary tools to close the loop of business development through a strategic and focused approach across Grey County. The BEC has a long history of success and this transition will help to broaden the impact area and grow our profile with the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs," said Warden, Stewart Halliday.

The BEC will be a major pillar in the new Regional Skills Training, Trades and Innovation Centre which is scheduled to open in September 2018 and is a joint initiative of Grey County, Georgian College, Bluewater District School Board, Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board, the City and other stakeholders.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Growth has endorsed the transfer to Grey County and is excited to see the regional service offered by the BEC gain profile moving forward. The City leased this building for the BEC, a lease that is expiring in June. This space is an excellent opportunity for a new or expanding business in the City's downtown core.
