Owen Sound Artists' Co-op has rented the building adjacent to the Co-op gallery to establish The Workshop, a creative hub with specialized equipment in pottery, jewellery and printmaking. This will be a place to make you proud of your dirty fingernails!

In 2017 a tool drive was initiated to collect tools and equipment of all kinds from the community - (we're still accepting!) What isn't used in The Workshop will be sold at the first fundraising event of many fundraising events, during the Hottest Street Sale in downtown Owen Sound on Saturday, July 7th from 8am to 3pm. During this event, there will be tours of the new space, showcasing the interior that has been renovated to reflect the glory days of the 1890's when it was The Molson Bank.

The Workshop is a community arts-driven effort to bring the makers experience to our region. A thriving art scene is integral to a vibrant community and a growing economy. This will be an inspired space where people can come together, share ideas, get their hands dirty, and contribute to arts education by learning or teaching.

With financial help through fundraising, sponsorship and provincial and federal grants, The Workshop will be fully operational by late fall of 2018! Contact the Owen Sound Artists' Co-op if you would like to donate to or sponsor this dynamic community project!
