OSPS logoThe Owen Sound Police were called at approximately 8:20 p.m. Monday night with regards to an intoxicated female seen driving away in a vehicle after assaulting a male party. It was reported to the Police that this female had spat on the male before getting into a Ford Mustang convertible in the 1800 block of 4th Avenue East.

Officers soon after, located the vehicle parked unattended a couple of blocks from the city’s downtown core. The investigation resulted in a 44 year old Owen Sound women being arrested and charged for Assault, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Driving with Over 80mgs of Alcohol in her Blood, Fail to Comply with Recognizance of Bail and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused blew over twice the legal limit of alcohol that a driver is allowed to have in their blood when operating a motor vehicle. Her Vehicle has been automatically impounded for a period of 7 days and her driver’s licence initially suspended for 90 days. She has been held in custody on the charges to be taken before bail court in Owen Sound on Tuesday morning.
