OSPS logoOwen Sound Police have charged a 55 year old Owen Sound resident after an investigation early Thursday morning.

Police responded around 3:45 a.m. to a report of a woman causing a disturbance at an apartment on 5th Avenue ‘A’ East. The woman was attempting to wake an occupant of one of the units, however, her actions woke another resident who phoned police. The citizen reported that the female who was intoxicated had entered a vehicle and was driving from the scene. Police located and stopped the vehicle as it was leaving the area. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested.

The female was transported to the police station where a qualified breath technician administered breath tests resulting in readings more than double the legal limit. The female was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in court in January to answer to the charges. Her vehicle was impounded for 7 days and her licence was suspended for 90 days.
