ospslogoOwen Sound man in police custody after Crystal Methamphetamine was seized.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on February 14th, a drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit resulted in the arrest of a 48 year old Owen Sound man. The accused was stopped by a patrol officer and taken into custody as he walked up the sidewalk of the 10th Street East hill.

A subsequent search conducted by police revealed that the man was in possession of a lock box containing 33 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine along with drug packaging and a small quantity of cash. The street value of the seized narcotics is as much as $3,300.

The accused was charged with both Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime. The accused remains in police custody pending a court appearance which is scheduled to take place on the morning of February 15th.
