oppb graphic fullSouth Bruce Ontario Provincial Police is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for a break and enter at a Laundromat.

On April 23, 2019, South Bruce OPP was called to investigate a break and enter after unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered the Walkerton Coin Wash Laundromat located on Colborne Street in Walkerton. The break and enter occurred between April 22, 2019 at 11:00 p.m. and April 23, 2019 at 8:00 a.m..

Once inside the Laundromat the suspect(s) gained entry to the coin operated washing machines and driers as well as a change machine. The suspect(s) left the Laundromat with a large amount of cash including denominations of; quarters, loonies, toonies, $5, $10 and $20 bills. A large amount of the cash stolen was coins. The suspect(s) also caused a significant amount of damage to the change machine as well as the washers and dryers.

The total theft value is approximately $6,000.

The South Bruce OPP would like banks and merchants to be cognizant when accepting large quantities of change and to contact the South Bruce OPP for further investigation should they suspect any suspicious activity.

The South Bruce OPP would also like to remind the public to report any suspicious behaviour to police right away.

Anyone with information which may assist in this investigation is asked to the South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
