A 46-year-old man faces impaired driving charges after a driving complaint was received by city police Friday evening. Shortly after 8 pm an alert security guard at a local campus reported a male party driving erratically in the parking lot. The security guard spoke with the male and suspected he was impaired by alcohol and notified police.

When investigated by police the male was given a roadside test which he failed. The male was transported to the Owen Sound Police station where tests were conducted by a qualified breath technician and the test results were found to be twice the legal limit.

The male’s drivers’ licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his car was impounded for 7 days. The accused will appear in court on November 14th to answer to the charges.
