On December 7, 2019 at 3:40 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle that left the roadway at Highway 21, Saugeen First Nation. A blue car was found in the ditch with a lone driver present at the scene.

The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to Grey Bruce OPP detachment in Wiarton. The results of the breath samples provided by the driver were over 3 times the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.   A 46 year old woman from Owen Sound has been charged with Operation while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and Operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), section 320.14(1)(b) CC.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 8, 2020.
