opplogosleeveOn April 7, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a break and enter into a business at Hwy 10, north of Markdale in Grey County. Several items were taken from the business, along with a wheelbarrow.

At the scene the owner of the business pointed out to OPP officers a single tire track leading away from the scene. The wheelbarrow tire track was followed to a neighbouring residence. Officers obtained a warrant to search the neighbouring property and residence and located the stolen items.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 52 year old from Chatsworth with Break, Enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence, section 348(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, section 354(1)(a) CC.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 11, 2020.

"Grey Bruce OPP have seen an increase of property crimes over the past couple of month. We are asking the public to keep an eye out for suspicious activity involving vehicles or people around your communities. Report any suspicious activity to police," says Community Safety Officer, Adam Belanger.
