 The Owen Sound Police made arrests in three separate and unrelated incidents on Thursday.

On April 22 the Owen Sound Police commenced a mischief investigation after a person urinated on the controls of an elevator causing the elevator to break down. On April 23 police identified the responsible party and at approximately 3:15 pm a 30-year-old man was arrested. At the arrest, police found a quantity of drugs on his person. The male was subsequently charged with: mischief under $5000, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of identification documents, possession of property obtained by crime and 4 counts of failing to comply with probation. He was released with a July court date.

At approximately 5:30 pm on April 23 police arrested a 19-year-old at a local pharmacy and charged him with uttering a forged document. The man had received a prescription for a non-narcotic drug and altered it into an oxycodone prescription. The pharmacist became suspicious and contacted the doctor confirming the prescription had been altered and contacted police. The man was released from custody with a July court date.

Shortly after 6:00 pm Thursday, police attended a parking lot in the downtown core regarding a motor vehicle collision. Police quickly learned that the lone involved vehicle was also the same vehicle in a traffic complaint received a short time earlier.

Police had received initial complaints about a vehicle travelling at a slow speed with articles falling of the vehicle including a gas can and items being thrown from the vehicle. The collision involved the vehicle running into the side of a building. Witnesses stated that the vehicle was driving in circles when the driver fell out of the vehicle and was dragged by the seat belt before coming to rest against the building. The 57-year-old man received some minor scrapes. The driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and operating a conveyance while impaired by drug. His licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days. He was released from custody with a July court date.
