oppcarBetween May 22nd and May 24th, 2020 on Highway 6, in South Bruce Peninsula, five motorists were charged with stunt driving - 50km/h or more over the posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

A 63-year-old from South Bruce Peninsula, was travelling over 135 kilometres per hour (km/h) on a motorcycle in a posted 80 km/h zone.

A 19-year-old from Brampton was travelling over 140 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a car in a posted 80km/h zone.

A 52 year old from Stratford was travelling over 135 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a Sport Utility Vehicle in a posted 80 km/h zone.

A 19-year-old from Arran-Elderslie was travelling over 140 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a truck, pulling a commercial trailer, in a posted 80 km/h zone.

A 21-year-old from Scarborough was travelling over 145 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a car, in a posted 80 km/h zone.

All of these drivers were issued provincial summons to attend court, a 7 day drivers licence suspension and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 7 days.

The Grey-Bruce OPP want to remind motorists that excessive speed in one of the leading causes of deaths on our highways.
