sauble speedwayWell it's almost here the long awaited much anticipated 2016 race season at Sauble Speedway. Although Sauble Speedway will be reducing the overall number of races in 2016 they will be increasing the overall fan experience and excitement with their new schedule.

Sauble Speedway owner / operator Jason Thom says the 2016 schedule was designed focusing on the tourist who have made Sauble Speedway a part of their summer family fun since 1969. "Traditionally we have seen the biggest crowds during the normal summer season here at "The Beach" and we really want to focus on that market this coming season" Thom stated. "Sauble Speedway has always attracted the best drivers in the province and we wanted to set up our schedule to allow them to showcase themselves and their sponsors in front of the biggest crowds we could, which was the main reason for the change". Over nine weekends this coming summer fans will be treated to thirteen racing events featuring two visits by the APC Pro Late Model series along with five visits by the Can AM Midgets, two by the Locus Oil Sportsman Cup Series as while as all the OSCAAR classes and other touring series in the province. Plus as an added bonus Sauble Speedway with be hosting the Rick Woolner Memorial open wheel modified race Sunday July 3rd which will cap off a huge three days of racing on the Canada Day Weekend.

Along with all the traveling series, fans will still be able to cheer on all their local favourites from Limited Late Models drivers down to the Jr Late Models plus this season Bone Stocks have been added to the list of classes. This low cost entry division will easily turn into a fan favourite in no time.

Things kick off June 18th with a fun night of entertainment including the Western Ontario Outlaw Lawnmowers, Figure 8 Races, Mini Smash, Demo Derby highlighted with a Monster Truck Freestyle display by Bucking Bronco. After that the action kicks into high gear May 25th when the APC Pro Late Models plus the Lucas Oil sportsmen Cup series both highlight the first full night of racing at Sauble Speedway.
