attack-white-fullThe Owen Sound Attack have wrapped up the 2017 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, and have added 17 new players to the Bear's Den.

Attack General Manager, Dale DeGray, began the day by selecting Collingwood native Mitchell Russell at 20th overall.

The 5'10, 182 lbs right winger scored 35 goals and 23 assists in 41 games with the Barrie Junior Colts in 2016-17, and joins Zach Nastasiuk as members of the Barrie Minor Hockey Association to be selected 20th overall by the Owen Sound.

The Attack then selected goaltender Mack Guzda at 31st overall before using their second pick of the 2nd round to select defenceman Igor Chibrikov at 40th overall.

Owen Sound chose a total of 10 forwards, five defenceman, and two goalies over the course of the Priority Selection.

DeGray said that the 2017 draft crop provides "a wide variety of players that can bring a number of different skill sets to the organization. We're thrilled with what we added today."

The Attack will now meet the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Game 3 of their Western Conference Semifinal on Sunday, Apr. 9.
