attack-fullThe Owen Sound Attack selected eight different players in the middle five rounds of the 2018 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore.

In the 6th round of the draft, Owen Sound picked their 1st netminder, Nic Chenard of the Sun County Panthers. Standing at 6'3 and weighing in at 173 lbs, Chenard played 18 games for the Panthers on the year and posted a stellar five shutouts.

Just seven picks later, the Attack added another centreman; this time opting to select Ben Van Waterschoot out of the Whitby Wildcats. A 6'2, 180lbs pivot, Van Waterschoot put together a season of 31 points by way of 17 goals and 14 assists in 35 games over 2017-18.

Then, with their first of two picks in the 7th round, Attack General Manager Dale DeGray picked defenceman Nathan Small of the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs. Small scored six times while adding 16 helpers over 31 games on the year.

Six picks after Small was selected, the Attack ventured south of the border and drafted Tanner Latsch, a centreman out of the Honeybaked U16 AAA program. Latsch is a proven producer, having scored 38 goals along with 31 helpers in 68 games for his squad in 2017-18.

Holding just one pick in the 8th round, DeGray used the 155th overall pick to take defenceman Max Bronstine of the Mississauga Rebels. In 30 games for the Rebels, Bronstine had one goal and 17 assists.

The Attack then selected again at 175th overall, where they chose netminder Marco Latassa out of the Oakville Rangers. Latassa appeared in 25 games for Oakville on the year, and the 6'2, 180lbs goalie posted a 1.31 goals against average to go along with seven shutouts.

Owen Sound doubled up again in the 10th round, using back to back picks to chose Ryan O'Toole and Michael Bishop at 195 and 196 respectively.

O'Toole, a centreman for the Mississauga Rebels, measures in at 5'10 and 145 lbs and totalled 29 points in 33 games on the season.

Playing out of the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals program, Bishop scored 16 times and added 14 helpers in 25 games.

The Attack will now make one pick in each of the 11th, 12th, 13th, and 15th rounds to conclude the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.
