paramedic award

Two Grey County paramedics have been provincially recognized for their years of exceptional service.

Paramedics Diana Graham and Rick Trombley were presented with the Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal in Ottawa on September 28. The award, presented by Honorary Lieutenant-General Richard Rohmer recognizes paramedics who have served for at least 20 years and shown the highest standard of conduct and efficiency.

"Diana and Rick have shown a tremendous commitment to delivering prehospital medical care while serving the people of Grey County," said Grey County Warden Alan Barfoot. "Their efforts and bravery make our communities safe places to live, work and play. We are proud of them for their accomplishments and grateful for their many years of dedication."

Diana Graham is known as a role model within Grey County. She always displays a positive work ethic on the job, motivating her coworkers and actively mentoring junior employees. Throughout her career, Graham has shown excellence in patient care and is seen as a person anyone can go to for assistance.

Rick Trombley is a highly trained community paramedic and was vital in delivering the EPIC community paramedicine trial in Grey County. Trombley is a proven leader in the organization, playing a large role in the department's public relations efforts, which includes organizing annual paramedic week events and community food drives.

"Diana and Rick are excellent paramedics who always go above and beyond when caring for their patients," said Director of Paramedic Services Kevin McNab. "They are both very deserving of the exemplary service medal and we are all proud to see that they have been recognized for their efforts."

The Exemplary Service Medals were award during a special gala at the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs annual general meeting in Ottawa.
